Description
SPECIAL PRESENTATION
FROM VIETNAM TO TEXAS:
THE WAR, IMMIGRATION AND SHRIMPING
THE WAR, IMMIGRATION AND SHRIMPING
As a result of the Vietnam war, prompted by the fall of Saigon in April 1975, Vietnamese immigrants from South Vietnam resettled in the United States. These immigrants, and the ones that followed in the next two decades, significantly affected the population and commercial fishing industry in South Texas including Rockport-Fulton. To complement the Wall that Heals traveling exhibition’s visit, the Texas Maritime Museum is offering a FREE special presentation on Vietnamese immigration to Texas and the Commercial Shrimping Industry on Friday, February 3 at 5:00 PM.
