5:45 p.m. School Bond Presentation Begins - Dr. Joshua Garcia, Superintendent speaks followed by a special presentation from the Bond Committee Representatives.
6:15 p.m. Candidates running for office in the May 7 General Election will give 3-Minute Opening Statements followed by a Question and Answer Session moderated by KRIS TV Ch. 6 10 p.m. News Anchor Katia Uriarte. All questions must be written on the slips provided at the event.
7:20 p.m. Closing Round begins with each candidate giving a 1-minute impact statement
7:30 p.m. Evening concludes

Bio: I remember the moment I wanted to be a journalist. It was my senior year at Loyola University in New Orleans. I was about to take the LSAT for law school when I took a communications class and… I was bitten. That was it!!! I KNEW right then and there I had found my passion. It was the rush of putting together a newscast. The responsibility of telling a fair story. And let’s be honest, the lights and cameras were fun too. Eighteen years now in this business and my passion for news has only gotten stronger. I’ve lived in Corpus Christi longer than I’ve lived anywhere in my life. Corpus Christi is my home. I’m raising my son here. He will know the love of having the beach a short drive away. The wind that makes our city memorable. And the people that make our city great.
We’ve made it through a horrible storm. I was with you when Hurricane Harvey hit. Let’s pray we never have to go through that again. But if we do, you can count on us. We will ride it out with you. Whatever the story is. You can trust us to be fair and to tell it right.

About the evening...
Leadership Aransas County (LAC) Alumni Association will host a Candidates Panel & Issues Forum consisting of the contested races in the May 7 General Election. It will feature elections for the Aransas County ISD School Bond and Trustees, City of Rockport and Town of Fulton. The forum will open with a presentation of facts and information on the upcoming school bond election. Display tables of information provided by parents will be available.
In the Candidates portion of the forum, each candidate will have a three-minute opening statement that describes their platform. The candidates bios will be listed on the evening printed program. Audience members will then submit a written question to a specific candidate and the candidate will have one minute to respond to each question. Opposing candidates will be given one minute for a rebuttal. At the end of the evening each candidate will be given one minute for a closing statement. LAC Alumni, LAC Class XXV and graduates of Youth Leadership will be involved in all aspects of the forum from serving on the question review panel, announcements, question collectors, timekeepers, logistics, food line, registration and promotion. “The purpose of this forum is two-fold: it’s to provide the community information on the candidates and issues as well as expose our adult and youth leaders to the election process” said Chad Lee, LAC Alumni Chair.
