DESCRIPTION:Small Business Finance Assistance and Mentoring\n \n\nBusiness assistance volunteers needed to begin SCORE program here\n \n\n(Rockport-Fulton) To help small businesses during this difficult economic time\, the Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce has been approached by SCORE Corpus Christi (Service Core of Retired Executives) to begin a volunteer business assistance "mentor" program here. \n \n\n"SCORE Corpus Christi will present finance options for small businesses and introduce their no cost services to start or grow your business. You are encouraged to take advantage of business mentoring\, training workshops or become a SCORE volunteer to serve your small business community\," said Debbie Fernandez\, Mentor Coordinator for SCORE Corpus Christi.\n\n \n\nDebbie Fernandez retired in 2016 as Branch Manager of the U. S. Small Business Administration's Corpus Christi Branch Office. As Branch Manager\, Fernandez oversaw delivery of the SBA's loan guarantee programs\, business development\, counseling and training for the Coastal Bend area of the 7-county branch office. The primary focus in support of the agency mission was to assist small businesses in their formation and growth in order to create jobs and play a vital role in the economic development of the district\, the state and the nation. \n\n \n\nSCORE will pay for your lunch. Fernandez is bringing three other volunteers that will share their experiences and how they give back to the community: Laura Leal Estrada (Liftfund but volunteers as well)\, Rosie Vela (retired CPA with city finance experience) and Keith Arnold (Retired from tourism and organization management field). \n \n\nLunch and Learn Tool Kit Talk set for Tuesday\, July 7 at the Chamber office located at 319 Broadway across from Rockport Harbor. It includes a brown bag lunch.
