SUMMARY:Texas Music Friendly Community Certification
DESCRIPTION:ROCKPORT-FULTON NAMED MUSIC FRIENDLY TEXAS CERTIFIED COMMUNITY\n\n \n\nTexas Music Office certification ceremony slated for May 9 with live entertainment\n\nROCKPORT\, Texas \n \n\nTexas Governor Greg Abbott's Texas Music Office (TMO) has designated Rockport-Fulton as an official Music Friendly Texas Certified Community. The Music Friendly Texas program\, the first in the nation since being introduced by TMO in 2016\, seeks to foster music business-related economic development and job creation in Texas cities and communities\, requiring a multi-step process for certification consideration. \n \n\nThe May 9 Rockport-Fulton ceremony begins at 4 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Featuring local dignitaries and a representative from the state's Texas Music Office\, the event also includes a performance by rockabilly Texas country band Two Tons of Steel.\n \n\nThe music-friendly festivities will continue throughout the evening of May 9 with ticketed events\, including a concert featuring Texas country music singer-songwriter Bruce Robison at The ROCC\, located at 106 S Austin St in downtown Rockport. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the show beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets may be purchased on the Rockport Center for the Arts website.\n\nIn Fulton\, two shows are planned with country band Tumble Dry Low at Headliners and country blues band The Lucky Dogz at Sugar Shack\, both beginning at 9 p.m.
