DESCRIPTION:Rockport-Fulton Seafair cancelled \n\ndue to COVID 19 concerns\n\n \n\n With the COVID-19 situation throughout Texas\, the Seafair Committee and staff have made the difficult decision to suspend plans to move forward with the 46th annual event which was planned for Oct. 9-11. \n \n\n"Seafair Event Chairman Karl Hattman said regretfully "We would have loved to put on another memorable Seafair event this year\; however\, with the uncertainty caused by COVID 19\, this difficult decision was made by our committee. The safety and health of our community\, volunteers\, vendors\, visitors\, and staff takes the highest priority.  We look forward to seeing everyone next fall!".  \nPlans for the 2021 are already underway with the dates of Oct.8 -10 set for the event.\n\n \n\nSeafair is one of the most popular events in the Rockport-Fulton area attracting more than 10\,000 attendees annually. From Live entertainment\, Arts & Crafts and Market vendors to water activities\, car and boat shows to delicious food and gumbo and the hilarious live crab races\, this family-oriented event has become a favorite for all of South Texas. For Forty five years the annual Seafair festival has been a major event for the Rockport-Fulton area. Even after the destruction caused by Hurricane Harvey\, the Seafair event was held only one month later. While the town was in shambles\, the event brought a sense of community back to the town. It was an opportunity to allow local businesses a storefront to sell their wares and for non-profits to be able to raise funds as well.\n\n \n\nSeafair is held by Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce and is the entity's major fundraiser each year. Diane Probst\, President/CEO for the Chamber stated\, "It is a disappointment not to be able to hold this amazing event\, but we feel it is a necessary adjustment to make in order to comply with governmental mandates and to keep our community safe."\n\n \n\nThe Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce\, recently awarded its 5-star rating by the US Chamber of Commerce for the third consecutive time\, is proud to be working diligently in the revitalization of the economy and rebuilding Rockport-Fulton. \n\n \n\nThe Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Center is located at 319 Broadway St. in Downtown Rockport and is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.
