DESCRIPTION:Rockport Center for the Arts\n\nWorkshop.\n\nRaku Pottery with Vivian Rood\n\nRaku is the art of firing pottery very quickly and pulling it from the kiln at the height of firing while it is glowing hot.  The work is then placed into reduction chambers with combustible materials creating unique colors and markings.  In session one\, students will build pottery pieces and learn safety practices for firing.  In session two\, students will glaze and fire the work created in session one.  Each student may fire 2 pieces of work approximately 6" X 6".
