DESCRIPTION:Interdisciplinary artist Janavi Mahimtura Folmsbee captures the choreography of marine life the color\, form and rhythm of the world's oceans in her upcoming exhibition Magic Water. The works will be on display from April 18 through June 7 at the Rockport Center for the Arts\, 204 S Austin Street in Rockport\, Texas. A public opening reception is scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday\, May 9. The exhibition features 178 components over four large wall installations\, stretching across the artist's oeuvre\, including porcelain sculptures\, underwater photography\, oil paintings\, mixed media works and nine large-scale vinyl prints. Each artwork originates from Mahimtura Folmsbee's field observations and research dives in diverse ecosystems around the globe. This exhibition will serve as a continuation of the artist's years of effort to draw attention to the health of the world's oceans.
