DESCRIPTION:Join us for our annual Brown Bag Lunch Lecture Series and enjoy interesting and educational presentations! This is our longest-running and highest attended free program at the Texas Maritime Museum and we appreciate your participation. \n\n\n\nBrown Bag lectures are free of charge. Guests are\n\nwelcome to bring their own lunch\, but cookies will be provided.\n\n\n\nJanuary 6: Wayne White\, local resident for 20 years and Winter Site Manager of the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Base\, returning to Rockport after the second of three winters at the base. White will present on early Antarctic exploration and his own experiences at the bottom of the world. \n\nJanuary 13: Retired engineer and merchant marine John Williams will present "Rescue at Sea." Williams will detail his tale of the daring rescue of a ship in distress in the Pacific.\n\nJanuary 20: Speaker\, Bill Turner\, past president of the Texas Navy Association. This will be a session about "History of the Texas Navy" you will not want to miss this one.\n\nJanuary 27: Current Vice President of the East Texas Historical Association and author of multiple books on Texas history Mary Jo O'Rear will present "A Fine Esplanade." This lecture covers the discoveries\, surprises\, exploits\, and misadventures of Zachary Taylor's Army of Exploration in Corpus Christi Bay.
