SUMMARY:Bay Education Center Summer Programs
DESCRIPTION:The Bay Education Center will have programming every Friday in June and July with the exception of July 4th\, as we will be closed. Each morning\, we will do Kindergarten - 2nd grade from 11am to noon. In the afternoon it will be 3rd - 5th grade from 1 to 2 pm. Each program will be first come\, first serve and limited to the first 12 learners. Fridays\, 11:00 a.m. ? 12:00 p.m. | Kindergarten?2nd Grade @Rockport June 6 ? Jellyfish (K?2nd Grade @Rockport) Children will explore the fascinating world of jellyfish through engaging visuals and hands-on activities that highlight their unique features and how they move through the ocean. June 13 ? Flowers (K?2nd Grade @Rockport) This session introduces children to flowers and their role in the environment. Kids will examine petals\, leaves\, and pollination through simple activities and observation. June 20 ? Sea Turtles (K?2nd Grade @Rockport) Participants will learn about the life cycle of sea turtles\, the challenges they face\, and what makes these marine reptiles so special. June 27 ? Weather (K?2nd Grade @Rockport) Young learners will dive into the basics of weather?clouds\, rain\, wind\, and sunshine?through fun demonstrations and sensory activities. July 11 ? Sharks (K?2nd Grade @Rockport) Kids will discover what makes sharks unique\, from their sharp teeth to their sleek bodies\, and learn how they survive in their ocean habitat. July 18 ? Space (K?2nd Grade @Rockport) This session will introduce the wonders of space\, including the moon\, planets\, and stars\, through creative storytelling and interactive projects. July 25 ? Birds (K?2nd Grade @Rockport) Children will learn how to identify local birds\, explore feathers and beaks\, and understand what makes birds different from other animals. Fridays\, 1:00 p.m. ? 2:00 p.m. | 3rd?5th Grade @Rockport June 6 ? Jellyfish (3rd?5th Grade @Rockport) Students will investigate jellyfish anatomy\, their place in the food web\, and the adaptations that help them thrive in the ocean. June 13 ? Flowers (3rd?5th Grade @Rockport) This session explores flower anatomy and function. Students will dissect real flowers to learn about parts like the pistil\, stamen\, and petals. June 20 ? Sea Turtles (3rd?5th Grade @Rockport) Learners will examine sea turtle behavior\, nesting habits\, migration patterns\, and the conservation efforts in place to protect them. June 27 ? Weather (3rd?5th Grade @Rockport) Students will explore atmospheric science by learning how clouds form\, how to read weather data\, and even build simple weather tools. July 11 ? Sharks (3rd?5th Grade @Rockport) This hands-on session covers shark biology\, including teeth\, senses\, and species diversity\, with a focus on their ecological importance. July 18 ? Space (3rd?5th Grade @Rockport) Students will explore the solar system\, understand phases of the moon\, and engage in activities that highlight Earth?s place in the universe. July 25 ? Birds (3rd?5th Grade @Rockport) Participants will investigate bird adaptations by comparing beaks\, feathers\, and feet\, and discuss the importance of birds in coastal ecosystems.
